Tony Miranda – Executive Director

New to Bakersfield but not new to Habitat For Humanity, Tony Miranda has been with the non-profit home building organization for over 17 years; most of which took place in Fresno County. After volunteering as the Volunteer Coordinator in Fresno, his leadership skills and passion for decent and affordable housing were very apparent. He eventually became the Executive Director for the Fresno affiliate before moving to Bakersfield. One anonymous staff member said of Mr. Miranda, “Tony is a man of passion, leadership, and conviction and this local Habitat For Humanity affiliate is in good hands with him on board.” Tony likes long walks on the beach, jazz music, and Lassens.

Cesar Menjivar – Community Outreach Director

A Bakersfield native, Cesar Menjivar has called Kern County home for over 25 years. A graduate from East Bakersfield High School and California Baptist University, he holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and is one of the newest members to the Habitat team. He is a man of faith, who is passionate about helping people find long term solutions to their problems, and loves making children laugh.

Pat Rhoades – Volunteer Coordinator

She started in Bakersfield and is still here today helping to make a difference. Pat Rhodes has committed over 15  years to helping Kern County families find strength, stability, and self-sufficiency through affordable home ownership. “If you want to know about Habitat Golden Empire, talk to Pat” said Cesar Menjivar. “She has the right heart for the families we serve and a tremendous gratitude for the volunteers.”

Art Sexton – Construction Supervisor

With a hammer, nails, and a jigsaw this construction supervisor can do just about anything. Art Sexton started working in the construction field in 1975 and hasn’t looked back since. He graduated the Carpenter’s Union Apprentice program in 1981 and has been using his skills in the industry and as a means for giving back to the community.

Trista Carter – Homeowner Services Coordinator/Administrative Assistant

The newest member to the Habitat Golden Empire team! Trista has a passion for helping people in need and is thrilled to do so with Habitat. Prior to Habitat she was serving the community at the Kern County Department of Human Services where she honed in her skills in social services and fostered her passion for helping others thrive.

Aaron Mealy – Director of ReStores

When it comes to retail experience, Aaron Mealy has it all. A husband and father of three children, Mealy brings a wealth of experience to the Habitat For Humanity Golden Empire team. He has over 20 years management experience and has worked for Fortune 500 companies. In addition to being a Certified Black Belt in Six Sigma, he has opened new retail locations and developed strong performance teams. Mealy is exited to be “Doing God’s work for others and bringing the word of God to life through teaching program volunteers”. He describes himself as a courageous leader who has been known for his innovation and high level decision making. “We are so excited to have Aaron on board with the HFHGE team. His heart is gold and his character is great for the ministry of Habitat” said Cesar Menjivar, Community Outreach Director. Mealy has lived in Kern County for 15 years and enjoys boxing, basketball, and martial arts.
