Building a Legacy of Hope
In 1976, Millard Fuller was a successful attorney in Americus, Georgia. He and his wife, Linda, thought it just wasn’t right that a working family in the richest country in the world couldn’t afford to own a home. They sold everything they had to start Habitat for Humanity.
The Kern County affiliate, Habitat for Humanity Golden Empire, began in 1991, completing our first home in 1992. Since that time, we’ve built 45 homes and housed over 150 children in Kern County.
Thank you, donors and volunteers, for making hope a reality for families in our community.
